Forged globe valve is the valve where the closure (disc) moves along the centerline of the seat. According to this form of movement of the disc, the change of the valve seat opening is in the direct proportion to the disc stroke. Because the globe valve has a relatively short open or closing stroke, and has a very reliable cut-off function, it is very suitable for flow adjustment. Therefore, this type of valve is very suitable for cut-off or adjustment as well as throttling.
